BEING GRATEFUL.

Being grateful and life lessons.

As I sit here thinking about what to say about the last few months, one word sums it all up and that is..... Grateful.

I'm grateful for all the help/support/guidance/motivation and inspiration from each and every one of my family members, friends, personal training clients, and a truly special girlfriend.

It's not an easy thing to put your body through a bodybuilding contest prep. There’s highs and lows throughout but to have all these people to keep you on track daily is the key to success….

I came with 1 goal for 2016 for the Natural Bodybuilding Federation of Ireland show to do my very best and winning the Under 68kg category was unbelievable.

To get selected as part of Team Ireland to take part in the UK Drug Free International Championships made me very proud and to take a 3rd place trophy home made it all the more special.

I can't stress enough how vital it is to have good support system around you not even relating to bodybuilding/contest prep but life in general.

I'm a big advocate for mental health and having someone to talk to when life is stressful or challenging will make your situation a whole lot better.

I'm also a big believer that anything you set your mind to, you can achieve.... it may seem an insurmountable task at first but we all have to start somewhere.

I've had the most enjoyable last few months and my mindset has never been stronger as I have being surrounded by great people.

I go about my daily business motivating clients to keep fit and healthy but in truth each of them played a part in my motivation to keep grinding out gym sessions. Everyone of my 1-2-1 clients were so supportive and constantly texted to wish me luck.

My family were the best! My mother played a massive role in helping me. I can't thank her enough. Not only that I have grown so much closer to her while living at home. The great thing about my Mam is that she has moulded me into the person I am today, not forgetting my Dad who is the biggest legend working so hard in the U.K who has always helped/supported and advised me. My 2 sisters Serena Keane and Ciara O'Halloran are also so good to me and hope I made ye all proud.

Last but not least is Liane Bradley. I met her in January so she has been through the highs/lows of contest prep and stuck with me every step of the way.

It's rare you find some one that doesn't get annoyed that you have to commit to a lot of training and being super strict with your diet week in week out.

She has helped me and got me out of many a rut. Her patience, support and kindness has not gone unnoticed. Her family have been so welcoming to me and I'm delighted that the hard work and sacrifices paid off. Holidays in Greece/Santorini in 2 weeks will be well deserved for both of us.

Having the few days off from work before I went to the UK got me thinking about everything as I wrote this actually on the plane home from Birmingham.

A lot of us go through life constantly thinking/overthinking things and situations.

All you have to is sit back, relax, write your thoughts down and see where you are at in life. Writing a journal of your thoughts can make you see things clearly.

I hope I inspire a few people to go after their goals. Like I always say opportunities lie on the other side of your comfort zone. So go get them.

Once again THANK YOU for all the messages of support over the last few days/months. It's been awesome to chat to people I don't see enough of. Will be making many trips to visit friends....

Be happy with yourself and always be grateful no matter what.
